Osmonds Drop Into Merseyside Church For A Family Night
Liverpool Echo

LIVERPOOL'S very own “long haired lover” Jimmy Osmond dropped in with two of his brothers to speak to Merseyside worshippers during a church family night.

The visit to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Mill Bank, West Derby, came ahead of their show at the Philharmonic tonight.
Merrill, Jay, and Jimmy had asked to take part in the event in which they discussed their faith.

Around 850 people had taken up free tickets to the event, some queuing since 5pm and having travelled from across the country.

Jimmy said: “We call these events a fireside in America but they’re family nights here.”

Ahead of the talk Jimmy promised it would include some acapella versions of their hits.

Jimmy said: “It’s always fun to come here and it’s looking really good. It’s so neat to see how the city has transformed over the years.

“When I recorded ‘Long Haired Lover from Liverpool’ I didn’t know where the city was. Now I come here often and have people sing it to me wherever I go.”
